An altar server is called to serve in his parish with a particular task, as the word itself says: the Latin ministrare means to serve. The altar server has his place in the liturgy, and the liturgy is a celebration offered in honour of the Lord God. To stand so close to God is not only an honour but, still more, a responsibility. All the great figures in the history of salvation, the prophets and the saints among them, understood their office as a great service.
